March 7, 2007
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – For the first time in its 46-year history, the Canadian-American Days Festival is including an international business forum to the week-long celebration. The Canada-Carolina Trade & Commerce Forum, which will be hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Wilkins and the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Wilson, will take place March 15-16.
“The U.S.-Canada relationship is one of the most powerful forces today in the global economy,” said Wilkins. “During Myrtle Beach Can-Am Days, top business and government officials from both countries will discuss strategies for continuing to grow our economies in this post 9-11 world. I am honored these exciting and important discussions will be held right here in South Carolina.”

Registration begins at noon on March 15 and is followed by an overview of the local region, state and Atlantic Canada region. The day continues with remarks by both ambassadors and a panel discussion entitled “Crossing the Border: Perspective on Doing Business in Canada and the U.S.” The first day of the forum culminates with a reception from the S.C.
